本篇paper代写- The difference in diet between Australia and China讨论了澳大利亚和中国的饮食差异。
To begin with, I want to divide my evaluation into three parts, which are the part of methods of research I used, the part of challenges or opportunities I encountered during doing my research, and the part of self- assessment of my outcome.
Firstly, during my research, I have used methods of typical investigation, key- point investigation, and case survey.
The easiest way of finding dietary differences between modern Australian and Chinese main meals is to go to the restaurants in Australia and China. I went to many restaurants to go through the menus and draw my conclusion that most of the Australian dishes are basic on meat. Many types of meat are listed in the menus but we could hardly see this situation in China. What’s more, the soup is different from China. In Australia, soup is always cooked with cream or butter which mainly provide people with high calorific value but Chinese soup mainly provide people with the feeling of heat but not so much calorific. Last but not least, most of the restaurants in Australia are fast food restaurants. I tried my best to leap over these fast food sellers but I discover that more and more Australians prefer to take fast food, especially when they rush to work or go to school, they just order some junk food. That’s why there are more and more over weighted people appear in Australia.
Key- point investigation is used in meat and sauces investigation. I used it in meat investigation because we have to focus the meat people in different country have. As we all know that Australia is a country with much resource so that Australians could enjoy more meat from many kinds of animals than Chinese. The conclusion is as I think before that Australians usually take pork, bacon, beef, mutton, poultry, and seafood into meals. But what surprises me is that Australians sometimes have the kangaroo meat as dinner which they treat the important guests. As for Chinese, they just take the normal meat as Australian do. But in some places, Chinese could eat insects such as cicadas, silkworm chrysalis, mantis, locusts, etc. Although many people think that eating insects is weird and sick, many people believe that insects contain much protein. I used it in sauces investigation because sauces couldn’t be found by typical investigation. In China, soybean sauce, mature vinegar (vinegar after three- year or five- year fermentation), Chinese prickly ash (which apply both spicy taste and salty taste), aniseed (which make the meat volatilize its mellow fragrance), and so on are usually used in normal cooking but we could hardly buy it in Australia because the patterns of cooking are different in China and Australia. But the sauces which Australian use are hardly used by Chinese, such as butter, Table salt, pepper, Kitchen, Stake sauce, lemon sauce, etc.
Case survey is used in the drinks investigation because that although the sample size could be as large as we could image, we couldn’t say that the samples we choose could show the overall performance of drink choosing. After asking at least 17 Australians I found that Australian drinks are basically coffee, juicy, and alcoholic beverages. After asking at least 26 Chinese, with the combination of my own awareness of Chinese drinks, I found that Chinese prefer tea, distilled spirit, wine and yellow rice and millet wine. The differences of drinks show that Chinese would like to drink alcohol when they are in parties or important places, but Australian prefer coffee in normal time and alcoholic beverages after work.
Secondly, the challenges or opportunities I encountered during doing my research are too much to consider.
On the one hand, the challenges include the process, the reality, the change of dietary habits. As for the challenges of research process, I had to go to many restaurants to find the differences between Chinese restaurants and Australian restaurants. If I just went to the restaurants without ordering dishes, the owner of restaurants may think that I am an impolite Chinese. So I have to order dishes but my wallet couldn’t bare that cost. What’s more, the fee of transportation is higher than it in my thoughts. As for the challenges of reality, it is also a trouble I encountered. I have to think of the food I have had in China and also asked them to my friends and families in China. But now, I am in Australia, I couldn’t investigate it by myself and I daren’t believe the data from the other people. Finally I begged my mother to take photos of menus of Chinese restaurants and Chinese sauces. As for the challenges of dietary habits changing, with the rapid development of society and the enormous economic globalization, more and more Australians adopt Chinese food and many Australians offer guests with Chinese food. Although my topic is the dietary differences between modern Australian and Chinese main meals, I also skipped the Chinese foods which are shown in Australian restaurants.
On the other hand, the opportunities include the growth, being practical, and asking for help. The opportunity of growth means that during doing the research, I learned how to investigate more specifically and accurately. I took many useful notes of the sauces, drinks, meat which Australians and Chinese use. The opportunity of being practical means that during the research, I have to pay the bills I had in restaurants. That taught me a lesson that my research of the dietary differences between modern Australian and Chinese main meals is a cost of money. The opportunity of asking for help means that each time I asked my Chinese friends and my families to take photos or answer questions, they agreed to do them without hesitation.
Thirdly and Finally, it is about my self- assessment of my outcome. I think that my outcome is the achievement of many- day work. During the research, I went to many Australian restaurants, Chinese restaurants, and dessert shops to find the exact data and congruence. As for me, a Chinese oversea student, I have to be objective to the research of the dietary differences between modern Australian and Chinese main meals. I think I made it, to be objective to Chinese food and Australian food. As for the requirements of professor, I divided my outcome into four parts, according to the key areas I discovered. Each part of my outcome was improved for two times. I reread it again before I began my evaluation, and I thought it may be called as my achievement, because this is my first time to pay such attention to doing the research, finding the data, comparing the differences which we could see it in the surface but we don’t know the reasons why the differences appear as them do.
Generally, I think there are both advantages and disadvantages of the research about dietary differences between modern Australian and Chinese main meals I did. On the one side, the advantages of it could be summarized as making me more careful, more rigorous, and more interested in normal questions we encountered in our daily life. On the other side, the disadvantages of it could be summarized as costing me much study time but it is useful, costing me much money, and occupying my friends’ and my families’ time. Although I am aware of that my research could be much improved with more study in the future, I also believe that I have done a great job.
The dietary differences between modern Australian and Chinese main meals could help us, oversea students, understand more clearly why many Australians like Chinese dumplings and dishes because much Chinese sauces; understand more specifically why much Chinese overseas students are inclined to cook by themselves because Chinese overseas students couldn’t enjoy meals with less vegetables; understand more distinctively why more seafood lovers travel to Australia. All of these understandings could help us blend in Australian life more softly and more smoothly.
Last but not least, I think that I have done what I could do to accomplish as good as possible and I appreciate that the research could teach me a lot.
