From the film called “He named me Malala” of David Guggenheim in 2015, we learn about Malala’s story. Malala is named after the Afghani folk heroine Malalai of Maiwand by her father. Malala is a girl who is attacked for her activism because of her being busy traveling the globe to propaganda girls’ right to education and she dares to make efforts to create platforms for peace and understanding for herself but not to be a victim for her attack. Though she is deprived of the right to be educated and she has even been shot in the head by the Taliban when she was 15 for advocating girls’ education, she still keeps striving for girls’ right to education so that she can later become the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.

In my point of view, the major theme of this film is about girls’ right to education as well as a young girl’s being brave enough to struggle for females’ right in patriarchal idea. And the point of the film is that all people should try their best to fight whenever they have been treated unfairly. Only in this way can they get fair treatment and can they enjoy their supposed rights. The reason why we should watch the film and read the book about Malala lies in that her personal story about education is really convincing and can help us regain a new awareness toward the equality between males and females. Also, the importance of education can be easily detected so that we can feel the hard-earned opportunity to be educated, leading to our being harder on study.

As for this film, I hold that it is one that can give inspirations to me and I can regain my courage and confidence to do something that I may choose not to do in most occasions out of its difficulty. There is no doubt that I enjoy it and the specific three adjectives that I would like to use to describe this film are inspirational, touching and enlightening. This films ties into the globalization theme because Malala has gone on her journey all over the globe in order to advocate girls’ right to education. I have to admit that I have learned the spirit of never-give-up and thinking for others from Malala and I have made up the decision to try it in approaching days.
