When it comes to marriage divorce, together with remarriage, humans are always involved and the decisions that they make will connect with ethics. Currently, marriage divorce and remarriage has become a common issue in this modern world, however, this sex ethic always draws the public attention even if it has become a trend up to now. This paper will probe into the overarching ethical issue, marriage divorce and remarriage by contrasting with laws enacted by a variety of countries and discussing some thesis appeared in Bible.

China is a nation which has regulated multifarious laws allowing couples to divorce as long as they meet the conditions. If the couples encounter family violence, having the habit of gambling, emotional feud and etc, they are permitted to divorce (Meijer & Johan, 1971). However, the Philippine does not allow people to divorce when they have decided to get married. The governments of the Philippine enacted a law which regulates that couples are only allowed to divorce when one of their partners die, and this law is what makes the Philippine has the lowest divorce rate in this world (Jones, 1994). It is clear that the laws of these two countries contrast with each other. From this point, we can see that the divorce rate can be mitigated if the laws are made to against it.

In terms of remarriage, British supports it. The Britain law regulates that people are allowed to have a remarriage after a peaceful divorce, however, the one who chooses to remarry will be terminated to raise their kids (Haskey, 1998). Unsurprisingly, similar laws are regulated in the USA. The survey done by Brown suggests that the remarriage rate has been increasing in America since 1990 (Brown et al). This means that the laws in America allows people to remarry. From this two point, we can see that there are no obvious differences between the attitude of these countries towards remarriage.

At last, we will see what the Christianity (the Bible) says about marriage divorce and remarriage. The Bible wrote that the person that chooses to divorce his wife and marry other female commits adultery (Luke 16:18). Therefore, it is conspicuous that Christians are not allowed to divorce and remarry and they strongly disagree with them. Additionally, Bible also wrote “I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries." (Jeremiah 3:8). Actually, the Christianity entirely forbids remarriage and divorce. The Christianity advocates that couples should love each other no matter what happens, hence, they will be committed sin if they divorce or remarry.

In a nutshell, as what has been discussed previously, we can come to a conclusion that different countries hold on a disparate opinion in regards to marriage divorce and remarriage. Nevertheless, in terms of the Christianity, marriage and love are highly holy and can not be stained under any circumstances.
