The silk road, which allowed the western people to have the chance to the expensive and fine silk, laid the foundation of the construction of religions in the regions on the route, fertilized them with merchandise and developed them into societies that values the worth of commodities.

Firstly, the silk road accelerated the religious dissemination and the stabilization of the re-gional religion construction. Not only did the Christianity found its way in China in 635 CE, but Buddhism also came to the land of middle east and central Asia.(T. Though there experienced many religious conflicts and changes in trends or conditions, the construction of the religions set in the time of the silk road remain much unchanged. The silk road is undoubtedly a period of prosperity of the culture and religions.

Secondly, the silk road helped boost the economic development of the countries that laid on its route. Though named “the silk road” by historians, the merchandise involved a variety of handi-works, spices, grains and so on. Though the Roman were in extreme affection of silk, they imported so many other thing from the mysterious Orient. As commodities moved westward into Rome and Parthia, money moved eastward into India and China, and people cannot deny that businessmen in-between like Armenians, Persians, Sogdians and Arabs were well benefited in the progress. (T. Da-ryaee, p.389)They gradually realized the potential of the handiworks and then converted their ways of production. And the inflow of funds necessarily became an essential part for those country to develop into the later powerful strength in the middle east.

What’s more, the silk road has set the image of the eastern countries as the countries of wealth. The temporarily economic changes of the eastern countries is not of real great history mean-ing, but ever since the silk and other wares were brought to the western, the eastern countries were then recognized as a symbol of luxuries and wealth. Businessmen were eager to have a look there and political relationships were built. The oriental silk were in great need by the nobles and rich men. Their respects towards eastern countries did not stop until the contemporary time.

The silk road set the foundation for the countries on its route both in the aspect of religion and economic. What’s more, it cultivated the image of the wealthy land of the eastern countries.
