In the cross-cultural communication of foreign students, the establishment and development of cross-cultural friendship is a very important issue, not only for their cross-cultural adaptation, but also affect their professional learning ability, the impression of studying abroad. Hu Yu Mei and Yiucheling pointed out that the biggest obstacle to Chinese students ' interpersonal relationship is the value factor and institutional arrangement, followed by subjective bias, cultural estrangement and language barrier. Shiying research shows that making friends in China is a realistic need for Thai students, as well as consolation and emotion, and the relationship between roommates, teacher-student relationship and Thai students constitutes their main interpersonal relationship in China. Rochelle's research also found that cross-cultural friendships can provide students with learning, life and personal assistance in order to gain a sense of belonging, play an important role in cross-cultural adaptation, and Chinese students benefit from such cross-cultural interactions.
However, there are relatively few studies on intercultural friendship between ASEAN countries. This article uses the interview method, taking the Southeast Asian students of a university in Guangxi as an example, summarizes their difficulties and conflicts in cross-cultural dating in China, in order to provide reference for the management, cross-cultural training and related research topics of Southeast Asian students in universities.
What are the difficulties that Southeast Asian students encounter in cross-cultural dating with local students and foreign students? Specifically, what are the difficulties and conflicts they encounter in the campus environment, language level and nonverbal aspects?
In terms of the overall situation reflected by respondents, the most closely related to them is the students of the country or the language, the cultural similarity of Asian students, followed by other countries and regions of foreign students, the relatively least closely is the relationship between Chinese students. Respondents generally expressed the lack of in-depth communication with Chinese students, it is difficult to establish a deep, reliable and lasting friendship. The difficulties and conflicts of intercultural friendships among ASEAN students can be summed up as follows: The overall environment, language level, and cultural difficulties in three aspects.
Respondents said that the separate management of foreign students and local student accommodation, that is, a separate dormitory building for international students, to the development of their students with the Chinese in-depth relationship difficulties. In addition, some students to reach the class size of the major, such as the school's business management and so on, also allows students to separate a class management. The school hopes the overseas students have better learning conditions, but it is very unfavorable to create conditions for the exchange of the two sides.
Some of the ASEAN countries surveyed said there were a handful of local students who were biased against their own culture. Especially when the national relationship is unstable, it is stressful in the overall campus environment.
Prejudice comes from a small number of students, but for students who are prejudiced, the pressure of state relations on personal relationships makes cross-cultural dating more difficult.
Chinese proficiency is a major problem that affects most students ' study and life. For the ASEAN students interviewed, the lack of Chinese proficiency is not only the impact of professional learning, but also to combat their interpersonal self-confidence, making cross-cultural friends frustrated.
And European and American students are not afraid to make mistakes in language learning way, Oriental culture stresses "introverted" characteristics make ASEAN students more easily because of language difficulties and self-confidence decline, not conducive to the development of cross-cultural friendship.
Through the exchange and interviews with different groups of students, the researchers found that the students in the school had formed two "circles" by dividing "English" and "Chinese". Most Asian students in China after a period of study, in addition to contact with their own people, basic can be used in Chinese and other countries students daily communication, but poor English expression. The students from Europe, the United States and Africa have maintained the habit of English conversation in class. The differences of language habits form a group inertia, not only in the classroom and their own language "circle" people get together and sit, extra-curricular work, life and "circle outsiders" exchanges.
