With development of society and human rights, more and more people pay attention to whether the euthanasia or physician-assisted suicide should be legalized. Euthanasia or Physician-Assisted Suicide shouldn’t be legal. In other words, Euthanasia or Physician-Assisted Suicide may be legal in the future but now, it shouldn’t be legal.

First of all, In 1997, there is an article which summarized 7 significant reasons towards the disadvantages of euthanasia. ( Luke Gormally, 1997). He said that it won’t be legalized until everyone realize that euthanasia isn’t a way of simply killing or suicide. Many states which legalized euthanasia claim that euthanasia ensure everyone could use his own rights of deciding to be alive or dead but the truth is that these governments make murder legal. There is a form on the website, Procon. Org. and there are more than half countries make euthanasia illegal. (procon.prg 2016) Very few states admit PAS but not euthanasia because that PAS has more government regulation. As for China, current law of China forbids any person to deprive others of their lives.( bbs.chinadaily.com.cn, 2015)which means many countries believe that euthanasia would bring more disadvantages than advantages firmly. Such as somebody would entice somebody to take injection to death in order to make money from paying the fee of death. What may happen is the abuse of euthanasia. (procon. Org, 2013)

In addition, although health spending accounted for 17.6% of GDP in the United States in 2010, (procon.org, 2012) which means America pays more in health spending, euthanasia is also a kind of murder, PAS is also a way of suicide. (Wikipedia, unknown) We couldn’t advocate saving money through euthanasia or PAS. (Wesley J. Smith, 2009). If somebody could afford the bill of curing illness, it may attribute to the laggard government actions. Government should help the patients respect their lives and cure their diseases but not help them to die easily.

Last but not least, the euthanasia couldn’t be accepted in moral aspect. Patients may lose their minds about living or dying. Pain could make them close to die and they may choose the euthanasia in order to reduce the sense of pain. Death may be liberation for them but not liberation for the relatives. Society hasn’t accept the euthanasia in moral aspect. Life is sacred and we should always seek to protect life and allow people to live until they die of natural causes. (Brandon Norgaard, 2010)

If euthanasia is legal, which problems would be bring to our society? Firstly, the abuse of euthanasia may come because of lacking of government supervision. Then, the debate of human rights of living would rise again, for euthanasia may be another disparaging of death for natural causes. Finally, euthanasia may reduce the significance of harmonious relationship.

So, euthanasia or physician-assisted suicide shouldn’t be legal.
